So great news, ICStation is providing me with enough of the tiny phone vibrating motors free of charge to build a flip disc style clock! In this first part of the series I demonstrate a cardboard prototype to see if the concept will even work with the motors I've chosen. I then go on to iterate several other prototypes designed in Solidworks and printed on my 3D printer. So far everything looks like it will work out great and I even explain an idea for the drive electronics. Currently I've designed a complete frame for one digit and the next step is to build one digit once the motors come in the mail. I hope you guys can give me your ideas and suggestions below in the comments section. Once everything is complete and working, I plan on uploading all project files so everyone can build one for themselves!
