Scientists made a startling announcement about ice shelf Larsen C this Wednesday. Adrian Luckman of Project MIDAS Luckman, a British Antarctic researcher, claimed that if the iceberg breaks off it could change the landscape of the Antarctic Peninsula. Iceberg calving, or splitting and shedding, could contribute to a rise in sea-levels due to ice flowing faster from the land and into the ocean. According to Climate Central, which most likely contributed to the calving of Larsens A and C in 2002.
