Turns out, you will be able to fly into the U.S. with your laptop after your trip abroad. But, get ready to face extra scrutiny for laptops and other electronics larger than cellphones. U.S. Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly announced on Wednesday that the DHS will implement enhanced security measures that aim to avoid the laptop ban on international flights entering the U.S. "Inaction is not an option,"“Make no mistake: our enemies are constantly working to find new methods for disguising explosives, recruiting insiders and hijacking aircraft,” John Kelly, secretary of Homeland Security, said in a speech Wednesday at the Center for a New American Security, a non-profit that develops security and defense policies.“It is time that we raise the global baseline of aviation security," Kelly said. "We cannot play international whack-a-mole with each new threat.” Airlines that fail to adopt the new measures will still face the laptop ban.
