According to the Washington Post, President Donald Trump is being investigated by the Justice Department for obstruction of justice regarding the Russian probe. The investigation, led by special counsel and former FBI Director Robert Mueller, began shortly after James Comey was fired back in May. After Comey testified that Trump told him "I hope you can let this go," in regards to the FBI investigation into then-national security adviser Michael Flynn, Comey suggested Mueller might investigate it further. “I don’t think it’s for me to say whether the conversation I had with the president was an effort to obstruct. I took it as a very disturbing thing, very concerning, but that’s a conclusion I’m sure the special counsel will work towards, to try and understand what the intention was there, and whether that’s an offense.” Trump has repeatedly denied obstructing Comey, even saying last week that would be willing to testify under oath.
