The Grenfell Tower fire is a large fire that started shortly before 01:00 BST (UTC +1) on 14 June 2017, at the 23-storey Grenfell Tower, a block of flats on the Lancaster West Estate in North Kensington, West London, England.

It is being attended to by at least 200 firefighters and 45 fire engines. Firefighters were trying for hours to control pockets of fire on the higher floors. Residents of surrounding buildings were evacuated out of safety concerns that the tower could collapse.

It was estimated there were hundreds of people in the block at the time of the fire.
