US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces carried out clearing operations in newly captured areas of eastern Raqqa on June 12-13. One car bomb factory was discovered in the al-Mashlab neighborhood while tunnels were discovered under nearby civilian homes.
As Kurdish forces continue to press further into Raqqa, local media reported that hundreds of families have been evacuated from al-Mashlab towards Ain Issa, where Kurdish forces have established a refugee camp for Raqqa residents displaced by the current fighting.
Towards the end of the footage, Kurdish fighters point to a license plate found inside the factory which suggests that the car originated in Iraq’s Salahuddin province. Storyful could not independently verify the car’s origins; however, the license plate in question does state that it was registered in the Salahuddin province. Credit: YouTube/Furat FM via Storyful
