Bill Cosby chose to not testify in sexual assault case

Views 6

Bill Cosby's lawyers rested their case after calling only one witness and six minutes of testimony. Cosby also apparently told the court that he would not testify. The only witness called to the stand was Detective Richard Schaffer, who led the original investigation in 2005 after allegations surfaced that Cosby drugged and assaulted Andrea Constand in Philadelphia. Now that the defense has rested, prosecutors are set to deliver their closing statements, followed by deliberations. Cosby has repeatedly denied the claims of sexual assault and has pleaded not guilty. If he is convicted, the 79-year-old could face 10 years in prison.
