During his appearance on CNN's 'State of the Union,' Democratic Representative Luis Gutiérrez slammed President Trump's conversations with James Comey about Michael Flynn.

During his recent appearance on CNN's 'State of the Union,' Democratic Representative Luis Gutiérrez of Illinois slammed President Trump's request to speak individually with former FBI Director James Comey and then asking him to drop the Michael Flynn investigation, as described by Comey.
Gutiérrez remarked, "I know a con artist when I see one and I saw a con artist that day."
He also said about Trump, "Sounds like somebody who exactly knew what he was doing as he didn't want any witnesses when he went and spoke to the director."
Gutiérrez added, "This is the President of the United States that went to the FBI Director and said to him - end an investigation. And then we’re supposed to believe he really doesn’t know what he’s doing."
In the opening statement of his testimony, Comey described his February 14 meeting in the Oval Office with Trump. It initially started with a larger group in attendance and then, Comey noted, "the President signaled the end of the briefing by thanking the group and telling them all that he wanted to speak to me alone. I stayed in my chair. As the participants started to leave the Oval Office, the Attorney General lingered by my chair, but the President thanked him and said he wanted to speak only with me."
Subsequently, according to Comey's statement, Trump told the former FBI director, “I hope you can see your way clear to letting this go, to letting Flynn go. He is a good guy. I hope you can let this go.”
Trump, however, rejected Comey's account of their interaction concerning Flynn during a press briefing on Friday and said that he'd be willing to testify under oath about those conversations.
