First lady Melania Trump has reportedly invited her husband’s supporters to join in on signing a card for his 71st birthday on Wednesday.
According to the AFP, she recently sent out an email which stated, “I need your help to make it a birthday my husband will never forget.”
After mentioning the recipient’s loyalty to the president and support for the Republican party, the message goes on to say, “Friend, Donald will be glad to hear from friends like you who have meant so much to his and our Party's success.”
Mrs. Trump’s predecessor Michelle Obama had previously organized a similar group birthday wish for her husband, former President Barack Obama.
The Huffington Post notes that in July 2010, Mrs. Obama sent a message stating, “Together with other Organizing for America supporters — and me, Malia, Sasha, and Bo — we’ll wish him a happy birthday and let him know that we’re ready to take on the year ahead alongside him.”
It also asked people to sign the electronic card to “make this a memorable birthday for Barack and wish him a happy 49th...”
There is a considerable age gap between Obama and Trump who made history last year by becoming the oldest U.S. president ever elected, notes People.
In fact, Trump turned 70 during the campaign; he reportedly responded to birthday wishes at one rally by saying, “I don’t want to hear about it...I feel like I’m 35. That’s the good news.”
