Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump backed their father’s harsh tweets regarding the London mayor’s response to Saturday’s terror attack in the city.

President Trump's sons recently backed their father’s harsh tweets regarding the London mayor’s response to Saturday’s terror attack in the city.
Donald Trump Jr. told ABC News' Tom Llamas, “Rather than the mayor of London attacking, maybe he should do something about it. Maybe he should do something to fix the problem rather than just sit there and pretend there isn't one.”
Eric Trump said, “You should be alarmed. Because this has become the new norm. And it's not right. And we, as a society, especially as Americans, better do something about it.”
The comments they referred to were tweeted by their father on June 4 and 5.
The tweets read, “At least 7 dead and 48 wounded in terror attack and Mayor of London says there is ‘no reason to be alarmed!’” and, “Pathetic excuse by London Mayor Sadiq Khan who had to think fast on his ‘no reason to be alarmed’ statement. MSM [mainstream media] is working hard to sell it!”
The New York Times reports, President Trump "mischaracterized" London Mayor Sadiq Khan’s use of the phrase “no reason to be alarmed” in both tweets.
Though Khan did use those words, he was speaking about the increase in police presence following the attack, not the act of terrorism itself.
After President Trump's first tweet aimed at Khan, a statement released by his office notes, “The Mayor is busy working with the police, emergency services, and the government…He has more important things to do than respond to Donald Trump’s ill-informed tweet that deliberately takes out of context his remarks…”
