Tiger Woods has spoken out after getting arrested on a DUI charge in Florida… and he’s saying it had nothing to do with drinking.
The golfer blamed an “unexpected reaction” to prescription medicine as the reason for the arrest, adding that he understands the severity of what he did and he takes full responsibility for his actions. He said he wants the public to know that alcohol was not involved, and he didn’t realize the mix of prescribed medications had affected him so strongly.
Woods apologized to fans and friends and promised to do everything in his power to ensure this never happens again.
Tiger has not competed for nearly four months and he’s out for the rest of the golf season while he recovers from fusion surgery.
The number 2 ranked golfer was arrested on Military Trail in the early morning hours, and he was released on his own recognizance at 10:50 am.
His agent and the PGA have made no comment on the matter.
