Regardless of narrative, the heroes are still 'white', and the victimized are still silenced.

The men intervening in the midst of attacks upon African and Arab sisters from a white supremacist in Portland, OR are getting the majority of coverage of this incident, being deemed 'brave heroes', particularly because they were considered to have put their lives on the line (in which one perished), and they were white people fighting white supremacy; when African, Native, Asian, Arab and so many other historically and systemically subjugated peoples have done the same exact things, and are demonized for working and organizing on the daily towards their self-determination. They are criminalized. There's even money being raised to publicly memorialize these two men, the amount significantly surpassing the two sisters who were victimized.
