Former House Speaker John Boehner recently shared his views on the Trump presidency, and they weren’t entirely positive.
RigZone.com reports that when speaking at the KPMG Global Energy Conference on May 24, Boehner gave the president praise in regards to the handling of foreign affairs, but said, “Everything else he's done has been a complete disaster."
He further noted that Trump is, “still learning how to be president.”
Specific problematic matters mentioned included Trump’s tweets and tax reform, which he characterized as “just a bunch of happy talk.”
On the topic of reform, he also said, “I was a little more optimistic about it early in the year; now my odds are 60/40...The border adjustment tax is deader than a doornail."
Boehner also commented on the administration’s health care woes, saying that Trump, “did what he could,” but said, had it been him, he would have chosen to repair the law already in place.
