The Game of Thrones creator George R.R. Martin has gone out of his way to take President Donald Trump to task.
In fact, he compared him to a character in his books.
Martin told Esquire Magazine that Trump and Joffrey are one in the same… saying that he thinks Joffrey is now the king of America, and he’s grown up just as petulant and irrational as he was when he was thirteen in the books.
For those of you who don’t know King Joffrey was a spoiled, cruel, and cowardly man who became the pinnacle of hatred for fans on the show in its early seasons.
Spoiler alert in case you’re not caught up: he was poisoned to death at the start of the fourth season… long before Trump launched his bid for the presidency.
But fans of the show and critics of the politician were quick to link the two, because of their hair, ancestral trait, and their access to inherited wealth.
The Game of Thrones is set to premiere on July 16 on HBO for it’s seventh and penultimate season.
