Havana's first five-star hotel opened its doors 23 May, 2017. While some Cubans feel that the hotel is beautiful and represents economic progress, the luxurious building stands in stark contrast to its surroundings. Rooms at the Gran Hotel Manzana Kempinski average about $800 per night. Meanwhile, the average income of a local is less than one dollar per day. Expedia now offers online booking for hotels in Cuba.
