Many people dream of living near the ocean with direct access to the beach. But these houses in California are situated a little too close to a steep cliff for comfort.

Due to heavy rains and landslides caused by a weather pattern known as El Niño, some houses are in danger of sliding off the edge of this eroding cliff.

The following drone footage shows an actual chunk of the cliff falling down into the ocean.
