A big thanks to all the Hy-vee managers who threw a surprise birthday party a week late since they were unable to join me in the one I had planned originally!

Right after I clocked out, I went to the break room like usual to get my stuff and then they all ambushed me with Happy Birthday. They ate the cake because I'm vegan and avoid refined sugar but they also gave me a big cup of cut up watermelon! It was totally not what I was expecting!


Ellen Thate, Andrea Woods Moore, Jerome Johnson, Scott Blair, Ryan Blair, Tyler Wilson, Steven Uhl, and Tom Feisel were all there for a short time before they had to get back to work. It really made my day.
