UT Arlington moved into the Sun Belt Championship semifinals by rallying past Texas State 72-63 Friday night at Lakefront Arena.
The third-seeded Mavericks (23-9) will face No. 2 ULM (19-12) on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. The Warhawks have yet to play in the league tournament after earning byes for the first two rounds.
UTA played from behind for much of the contest against the No. 7 Bobcats. The Mavs wouldn't take their first lead until 8:01 remained, as Erick Neal hit two free throws for a 54-53 edge.
Neal was instrumental down the stretch by getting to the rim and finding open teammates. The all-conference point guard finished with 12 points, 11 rebounds and six assists.
