2079.) It's definitely canon, no matter what they say!
My reasoning;
The Enterprise was on a 5 year voyage, as stated in the opening monologue Will Shatner gave in the opening of the show, correct? Also the series started in the year 2265, for where it takes place, right? Well, if the 5 year mission started in that year, then the mission wouldn't've been done until 2270. Technically, they only made it through 3 years in the original series until it was cancelled. This series continued that 4th year the original was robbed of. Minus Gene Roddenberry, several members of the crew who worked on both this & the original series, said this series was the 4th season of the original that came late, or something to that effect. Events of some of the episodes were referenced in future canon Trek stuff. Plus, Startrek.com has added info from the series, making it canon officially. If you say it's not at least a bit canon, you are in some type of denial, or some level of trekkie that is so stupid, you're so blinded that you wouldn't even let good, creative tv into the canon. Plus, we're missing 2 years of material from the canon of the original 5 year mission, there's no explanation of what happened in that timeframe. Even if that's the littlest reason to get you to think similarly to me, take it, if you're not already convinced. Thanks for reading & go f*ck yourselves, haters!
