Following a brief lull in fighting in eastern Damascus’ rebel-held Qaboun area, a barrage of air raids and artillery strikes were reported by Syrian activists on May 9. The air raids coincided with additional ground fighting in eastern Qaboun.

Opposition media reported both the regime and rebel sides suffered losses along the Baiyt Na’im front near Qaboun, though there were no reports of any immediate casualties from the airstrikes.

Meanwhile, Step News Agency said one of its reporters was beaten up while covering a small protest calling for an end to rebel infighting between the Rahman Corps and Jaish al-Islam in Qaboun on May 9, highlighting the ongoing feud between anti-regime factions in the area.

Additional air raids were reported in the nearby rebel enclave of Arbin and Zamalka.
