Thousands of people marked the Roma festival of Hidirellez in Edirne in Turkey on Friday.

Romany musicians played traditional music while locals jumped over a fire. The traditions date back to the nomadic Turks who roamed the Central Asian steppes.

The festival of Hidirellez is also known as “Kakava.”
