Dulat has allegedly claimed that the then-prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee had expressed discontent over the 2002 Gujarat riots and called it ‘our mistake’. The February 2002 communal riots in Gujarat claimed over thousand lives, with many more injured or missing.
