Chris Soules is still dealing with the fallout from his deadly car accident on Monday evening.

In the latest twist in the ongoing investigation, police have now obtained a search warrant for the results of the former Bachelor’s blood test following the crash, a law enforcement source told Us Weekly.

As OK! previously reported, alcohol containers were allegedly found at the scene of the accident, and the blood test may be able to show if alcohol did indeed play a part in the tragic accident that left one person dead when Chris rear-ended a tractor-trailer.

But according to reports, the test may not be entirely accurate, given the fact that there was a significant delay between the crash and Chris going to the hospital to get the test.

Following the accident, Chris called 911, but then left the scene and returned to his home in Arlington, Iowa. The former ABC star refused to allow police into his home until they obtained a search warrant, which took hours. After police arrested Chris, he was finally taken to a hospital for medical attention and the blood test.

Chris was eventually released from jail on a $10,000 cash bond, and is currently living at home with a monitoring device on his leg. The Bachelor had plans to leave the country prior to the crash, but it doesn’t look like Chris will be enjoying a vacation anytime soon.

While he was initially due in court on May 2nd, the State of Iowa has requested that the date of Chris’ court appearance be pushed back. This could be good news, as it gives Chris’ legal team more time to change public opinion surrounding the investigation.

Chris’ lawyers argue that his 911 call disproves assumptions that the crash was a hit-and-run, and that Chris did, in fact, remain at the scene of the accident and contact law enforcement immediately.

Do you think the results of the blood test will affect Chris’ case? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
