On April 20, an eaglet nesting in the DC Eagle Cam nest at the U.S. National Arboretum was rescued by a tree climber, who is also an arborist and eagle expert. The eaglet’s leg became lodged in a hole, according to the American Eagle Foundation.

The eaglet was not seriously injured, but was taken from the nest for observation at a zoo in Maryland ahead of storms that were forecasted to hit the area.

“Plans are being made to hopefully return the eaglet back to its nest as soon as possible to resume daily life with its sibling and parents, Mr. President & The First Lady,” the post said.
