At least one police officer was killed and two others seriously injured when a gunman opened fired on the Champs-Élysées Avenue in Paris on April 20, according to the French interior ministry.
An assailant was was shot dead by police, according to an interior ministry spokesman. The area around the Champs-Élysées was closed off following the incident, to allow for security forces to sweep surrounding streets.
