Indian archer Deepika Kumari fails to perform when it mattered the most. Kumari missed out at the shot-out during the quarter-final of women's recurve archery competition forcing India to crash out. It was mainly because of Laishram Bombayla Devi that India gave a stiff competition to the Russian girls. Earlier, India had beaten Colombia in the pre-quarterfinal 5-3 to make it to the last eight stage.
