ATLANTA — A Charlotte, North Carolina family are in absolute despair following the death of their 5-year-old son last Friday.
According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Charlie Holt was with his parents at a rotating restaurant atop the Westin Peachtree Plaza hotel in downtown Atlanta. Police say he wandered a short distance from their table, and became stuck between the rotating wall and a table.
The restaurant stopped rotating automatically and hotel staff rushed to help Charlie. It took firefighters 30 minutes free him, reported Fox 5 Atlanta. Despite their efforts, he died later at a local hospital from head trauma.
In a statement, Charlie’s family asked for privacy and prayers, saying, “No words can express their loss. If you have a loved one, please give them an extra hug today.”
