Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurates India's longest tunnel Chenani-Nashri, on the Jammu-Srinagar highway in Udhampur amid high security. Chenani-Nashri tunnel, will bypass three major stations - Kud, Patnitop and Batote - on the highway. The 9-km long 'Chenani–Nashri Tunnel' will reduce the distance by 31 kms, bypassing snow-bound upper reaches. PM Modi was also seen taking a view of the Chenani-Nashri tunnel. The tunnel is the longest road tunnel in the country, is suppose to reduce the travel time between Jammu and Srinagar by two-hours.
