A teacher is the one who knows the way, goes the way and shows the way to the entire society. He brings the society from darkness to light. He tries to link individual, society and country with each other. Construction and destruction both are in the hands of a teacher. He is like a lamp which itself lives in darkness, but illuminate others. He is like a ladder which remains constant on its place, but make others movable. There is a Chinese proverb that says something like, “If you are thinking a year ahead, sow a seed. If you are thinking ten years ahead, plant a tree.” But if you are thinking one hundred years ahead, educate the people. By sowing a seed, you will harvest once. By planting a tree, you will harvest tenfold. By educating the people, you will harvest hundredfold.
