Dramatic footage has emerged of a severe hailstorm hitting Guiyang, Guizhou Province, China causing multiple material damage in the city.

The video, filmed on Wednesday, shows huge hailstones shattering windows, smashing cars and breaking down trees.

After the hailstorm stopped roads can be seen flooded with icy water.

The meteorological observatory has issued red alert for this hailstorm.
