Israeli forces evacuated the illegal Jewish settlement of Amona following eviction order issued at midnight Monday. Amona, 35km (22 miles) north of Jerusalem, was built on privately-owned Palestinian land. Israel’s Supreme Court declared this settlement illegal, forcing the residents to move out of their houses within 48 hours after the decree’s publication.
