Footage has emerged from the US of a group of paddle boarders encountering a pod of friendly manatees.

The video, filmed off St. Petersburg, Florida in February, shows the manatees surfacing and generally hanging around the paddle boarders.

"They were frolicking around and under our boards for at least 30 minutes. It was the best show," the filmer wrote online.
