Heartwarming footage has emerged of a man putting on a surprise musical performance to ask a girl to his school prom.

The video, captured in North Carolina, shows the man performing 'Married Life' on a piano in the garage.

The garage door is slowly opened, to reveal his intended prom date, who reacts in an overwhelmed manner.

She later accepted the proposal.
