This is the first video I've made featuring the incredible Flux functionality in GoPro Studio software. I use a standard GoPro Session. I recorded the original footage at 720p resolution so that I could max the frame rate to 100fps. I later slowed this down to 25% in the editing software and desaturated it etc. Pretty pleased with it and I got rather wet in the making of this (see if you can pick out the part where I copped a wave full in the face!) but it was all worth it!
The music is the beautiful second movement from JS Bach's concerto for 2 violins (BWV 1043). The duettists are Roxana Pavel Goldstein and David Perry. The orchestra is the Advent Chamber Orchestra. To download this recording, please visit http://imslp.org/wiki/Concerto_for_2_Violins_in_D_minor,_BWV_1043_(Bach,_Johann_Sebastian). It has a
Creative Commons Attribution Non-commercial Share Alike 3.0 copyright so figured it was fine to use here.
Things I learned:
1) Spend more time editing (I was rushing!)
2) If you want good slow mo footage, grow a pair and get up close to the action.
3) Make sure you have plenty of room on your SD card (I just managed to squeeze enough on!)
4) If you're recording big waves on a beach, don't go wearing jeans and certainly don't wear shoes and socks!
5) Bring materials to wipe/clean the lens as you go.
6) Spend more than 10 seconds throwing text up!
but the most valuable thing I learned....
7) Recording slow motion video is really good fun :)
I hope you enjoy my beginner's effort.
