Armed police responded on March 22 to reports of a police officer stabbed at the Houses of Parliament.

The parliament building was then placed on lockdown, during which time MPs shared photos and video from inside the complex.

A number of people were injured, reports said. The event is being treated as a terrorist incident by police. The police tweeted that they were called at about 2:40 pm local time to reports of a security incident at Westminster Bridge.

Video uploaded to Twitter showed people on the bridge being helped up by other members of the public.
