David Freiheit had the luck of the Irish with him on this St. Patrick’s Day.

Most families spent this past weekend enjoying the St. Patrick’s day festivities around the world. David was getting ready to enjoy the parade in Montreal with his family when he had an idea. He was walking into the parade with his girls and joked with them about trying to get on a float.

Along the way they met marching bands and other parade goers. While speaking with someone from the Lakeshore Kiwanis, a volunteer group based in Montreal, David asked if they could ride on the float never thinking they would agree.

The folks at Lakeshore Kiwanis welcomed him and his girls on board and they got to experience the parade from the other side. The adventure was long and proved to be a little too much for his youngest but the family enjoyed the celebrations. Credit: Viva Frei via Storyful
