It’s Storm!...er Alexandra Shipp arriving at LAX, and since she plays a superhero on the big screen, we asked her thoughts about the news that there is a gay Power Ranger in the upcoming film.

[SOT: “I think it’s just another super power.”]

Good answer! There have been reactions on both sides of the coin to the recent news, but we think she nailed it. Some feel it’s taken too long for Hollywood to come around to the idea, but Alexandra has a different outlook.

[SOT: People are scared, people like to live in fear. But I guess now they don’t right? Now there’s just a little creek of hope.]

So there IS hope for the future! With the Power Rangers movie the first to make this kind of history, maybe we will see more of this in upcoming superhero films?

[SOT: “Maybe not openly gay, because it’s nobodies business who you’re sleeping with. But, maybe.”]

We’re looking forward to seeing how this trend develops in future superhero movies, but first things first…Why yellow?
