Originally, my American Ironhorse Texas Chopper motorcycle sold for over $30,000! Now, that it’s 10
years old, it would still bring about $16,000 if I were to sell it. So, naturally I tried to baby the bike to
ensure its continued good operation and to maintain its value.
So, any time I do an oil change (which is once per season or 3,000 miles, whichever comes first), I run full
synthetic oil in the engine, and now use an K&N chrome oil filter.

Sure, I know that everybody likes to have their own opinion on what type of oil to use in their
motorcycle and what type of filter to run, this is just my personal opinion. But, on my expensive custom
Texas Chopper motorcycle, this is the filter that I'm using because I believe it's the best filter out there! I
have prior to switching over to K&N used an oil filter from a major motorcycle manufacturer. Yes, the oil
filter was a couple of bucks cheaper than the K&N motorcycle oil filter, but the box just had the
manufacturer's logo on it and the motorcycle filter part number.

I would think if you were buying a premium motorcycle oil filter, the box would have some of its
features listed . . . just like the K&N motorcycle oil filter box has . . . a detailed description and photos of
all its features. So, I'm not a scientist and I never cut one of these open or put it through some stress
test. But based on the K&N filter box description and features, plus the comments from various
motorcycle forums, I think it's the best motorcycle oil filter out there. Plus, even though it cost a couple
bucks more, since I change my motorcycle oil every 3000 miles or once a season, I'm really only paying a
couple of bucks more each year to ensure my engine is getting the best oil and filter!
