This summer is shaping up to be a hot one for Ed Sheeran as he will be guest starring on the upcoming season of Game of Thrones!

The singer-songwriter will be appearing in the seventh season of the hit HBO series in July but details haven’t been released as to his exact role in the show. The announcement was made at the South by Southwest Film Festival in Austin Texas this weekend and Sheeran even mentioned the news on twitter writing, “Guess the cat’s out the bag…”

Rumor has it Maisie Williams, who stars on the show, is a big fan of Ed’s and producers had tried for years to make it work and now they finally have. He’s even been getting friendly with some of the cast members telling Rolling Stone in an upcoming issue he recently entertained several young cast members at his home in London.

He’s not the only famous musician to have made an appearance on the show. Other musical guest appearances have included members of Coldplay, Mastodon, and Of Monsters and Men.
