Another week of winter for the cherry blossom trees

Thanks to the cold weather, the peak bloom date for cherry blossom trees in Washington has been pushed back. The National Park Service is now predicting the trees in D.C.’s Tidal Basin area will bloom between March 19 and March 22. Originally, the NPS predicted that the Yoshino Cherry blossoms will bloom between March 14 to March 17, which would have set the record for the earliest bloom date.
