Referring to the souring relations between Germany and Turkey after local authorities banned events by Turkish officials visiting Germany, Chancellor Angela Merkel says Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's mention of "Nazi practices" is "sad and depressing", belittling Holocaust victims and is "so out of place as to be unworthy of serious comment".
