Microsoft Research has created a simulator that can teach self-flying drones how to avoid crashing. The Aerial Informatics and Robotics Platform recreates conditions that the drone would encounter in the real world. The virtual drone learns from navigating common hazards you would find on an actual environment, like power lines and trees. This allows developers to test and train autonomous drone prototypes without wrecking them. The post You Can Virtually Test Autonomous Drones appeared first on Vocativ.
