The Defense Department is considering sending ground forces into Syria for the first time in the fight against ISIS, CNN reported. "It's possible that you may see conventional forces hit the ground in Syria for some period of time," a defense official told CNN. The decision ultimately is up to President Trump, who asked that his defense secretary comes up with a plan to combat ISIS by the end of the month. If the proposal is approved, ground troops could enter Syria in a matter of a few weeks. Sending ground troops into Syria is one of the ideas that will be pitched to the president.
