How to Cook Chinese New Year Soy Sauce Braised Chicken with Shiitake Mushroom.
Ingredients:
-Half Chicken (Chopped into bite size pieces)
-12 Dry Shiitake mushrooms (Soak in water)
-1 tbsp dark soy sauce
-1 tbsp light soy sauce
-1 tbsp oyster sauce
-1 tbsp chinese cooking wine
-5 cloves of garlic
-5 slices of ginger
-1 tsp cornflour (mix with 2 tbsp of water)
-1 tbsp oil
Steps:
1. Marinade the chicken with dark and light soy sauce, oyster sauce and chinese cooking wine. Marinade for at least 20minutes.
2. Add oil to a heated wok, saute the garlic and ginger till aromatic.
3. Add the chicken into the wok.
4. Add the Mushrooms into the wok.
5. Add water and simmer under low heat for half an hour. Add more water when needed.
6. Lastly, add cornflour mixture for thickening the gravy.
