Atlanta (USA), Feb 16 (EFE/EPA) – (Camera: Erik Lesser). The legendary Ringling Bros. circus which will close in May after 146 years of activity, has made a stop in Atlanta during its final journey.
Animal rights associations such as People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) accused Ringling of exploiting animals and in 2016 the circus was forced to remove elephants from the show.
In January 2017, Feld Entertainment, owner of the circus, announced the definitive closure due to a "greater than expected" decline in ticket sales.
Animals were one of the key factors to Ringling's success.
