Spl1437967 [SOT: Hey Jason how are you? Any way you can tell us what happened? In your own words?
I can tell ya’ll what happened.]

That’s Jason Derulo at LAX after having a rough day while trying to fly out of Miami. He claims that they were late so he had to leave a friend behind to check the group’s 19 bags and take another flight.

2:24[SOT: So we came to an agreement with everybody there, they said that okay, cool, like, you leave one person behind and you can check in all the bags…]

Jason goes on to say he got a call from his friend that American Airlines wants to charge him 4 grand for the bags. And even though Jason was okay with that, it all fell apart when he tried to get a media rate discount… because he spends millions of dollars a year traveling on their airlines.

3:55[SOT: So you’re gonna make me pay the 4k, but you’re not going to give me my media rate either-
And you’re already on the plane?
I’m already on the plane, I left somebody behind to take a later flight, I’m upset. Naw take the plane around, you guys gotta suffer too.]

Jason claims while he and his entourage deplaned, the pilot got on the system and told the passengers that they would be missing their connections… and when Jason got on the jet bridge the captain proceeded to cuss him out.

Spl1437974 1:00[SOT: So we get out into the main lobby and there’s 15 police officers waiting for us which is obviously embarrassing being that I’m a public figure…

2:36[SOT: But as soon as they find out who I am, everybody relaxes. That’s not okay.]

Ultimately Jason made the next flight and he wasn’t charged a penny for his bags, but that doesn’t mean he’s happy with the situation.

Spl1437977 3:52[SOT: You’re upset about the way you were treated, right?
Yeah.
Obviously. Now what? You want a public apology from the airline?
Oh no no no. Those people should not be working at American Airlines, those people should not have a job--]

American Airlines has yet to release an official statement regarding the situation.
