Receding Hairline Treatment, Diagnosis and Results
Absolique Hair Health Clinic love sharing success stories of our hair loss treatments. 32-year-old male describing hair loss and hair thinning. Was becoming more noticeable gradually over the last 4-5 years resulting in a receding hair line. Similar pattern of hair thinning noted in family history on mother’s side, father’s side and also a brother.
One would assume this type of pattern hair thinning would be your typical male pattern thinning related to the androgen dihydrotestosterone (DHT). DHT has many functions in the body and is essential for our integumentary system which forms our protective layer… skin.
DHT can be triggered to bind to the hair bulb receptors resulting in gradual hair thinning, triggers are:
• Hereditary noted by family history
• Hormonal influence
• Environmental exposure
• Free radical effect
Wherever the trigger comes from the resulting hair thinning is the same. But what if you have more than one of the triggers present? This was the case here. The hair cycle and hair cell were not functioning normally with 18 abnormal hairs per centimetre in the terminal area. This represents 18 hairs every centimetre all over the scalp including the receding hair line where pattern thinning can also be present. This will leave those effected hairs with a compromised immune system and no chance of combating the free radical effect of binding DHT. So the usually gradual male pattern thinning was moving much faster than genetically determined.
We found diet, lifestyle and health related issues that had contributed and set about designing a combined receding hairline treatment and hair loss treatment addressing all symptoms and causes at the same time for the first 4 months’ combination therapy. The images represent what we achieved in the first 4 months and we have now designed an easy maintenance program that is incorporated into a hair washing regime along with basic nutrition so we can achieve further hair regrowth.
