Dramatic footage has emerged of a massive explosion occurring during an apartment fire in Toulouse, France.

The footage, shot on Wednesday, shows a firefighting crew attending the blaze when a loud detonation is heard.

Windows can be seen shattering as onlookers scream when the gas bottle explodes.

According to local media, all the residents were evacuated before the explosion and three fire engines were deployed on site to tackle the blaze.
