President Donald Trump has decided he will seek to pay for the wall on the US's southern border by imposing a 20% tax on imports from Mexico, the White House said Thursday. White House press secretary Sean Spicer told reporters. Mr. Spicer said the 20 percent tax on annual Mexican imports would raise $10 billion a year and would easily pay for a border wall that is estimated to cost between $8 billion and $20 billion. The announcement comes the same day that Mexican president Enrique Pena Nieto canceled a trip to the US due to Trump's wall proposal.
