Dramatic footage of a major explosion at a fireworks warehouse has emerged from China.

The video, captured in Yueyang, Hunan Province on Tuesday, shows flares firing into the air with loud bangs.

It reportedly took 14 fire engines and 84 firefighters to extinguish the blaze.

According to local news, six people perished in the fire and one person was taken to hospital for serious injuries.
